Mt. Takao has been designated as one of the "100 Mt. Fuji Viewing Spots in Kanto"
The summit of Mt. Takao has been designated as one of the "100 Fuji Viewing Spots in Kanto." These areas have been selected because they offer a particularly fine view of Mt. Fuji. The aim of the project is to support the preservation and utilization of scenic spots and promote regional development.

More than 2.5 million people visit Mt. Takao every year, seeking out the beautiful scenery throughout the seasons, the magnificent views from the trails and the summit, and the various historical and cultural sites, such as the Yakuoin Temple and other attractions.
Because of its convenient location not far from the center of Tokyo and the availability of a cable car and lift, Mt. Takao is easily accessible by anyone. The mountain is also renowned for its litter-free environment.
